Saw Mayall at Lyric Theater in Stuart FL last night. GREAT show! His voice is exactly what I remembered from the late 70's in NY. Had a blast! Very good bass player and drummer too!

Paul Strauss - Sat, Oct 15th, 2016 3:59 AM PDT
I caught John & his band in Stuart, Florida at the Lyric Theatre and he brought down the house !! A legendary performer with a lot of energy, skill & good humor. It was a magical performance from one of rock & roll's major towering performers !! Don't you dare miss one of his shows when he comes to town !!

What a fantastic show and moving experience. Mr. Mayall and his band came early and stayed late to interact with fans. He graciously signed his new CDS and my OLD LPs. The show was fresh and John was in his element, looking and sounding fantastic! I felt honored to be in the presence of this icon and blues treasure!! THANK YOU - THANK YOU!!

Outstanding performance, this man still has what it takes to put on an awesome show. He is so talented, still plays harmonica and keyboard with excellence and his voice is amazing. He bass guitar player was the best I have ever seen. See this show if you have a chance, just the best!

Skip Conner - Mon, Sep 26th, 2016 5:42 AM PDT
Was at the fantastic show at Ludlow Garage Sat. Man, what a GREAT band!! Mr. Mayall was kind enough to sign my 1969 copy of "The Turning Point" which is now framed and proudly displayed. Thank you for night I will long remember!

Pete - Sun, Sep 25th, 2016 9:03 AM PDT
Hi John...we really enjoyed your show last night at Ludlow Garage in Cincinnati, Ohio. Highlights for me were "Nature's Disappearing," "Blues for the Lost Days," and "The Bear" (I share a b-day with the Bear's main man, Alan Wilson). So many greats have passed on, and it's wonderful to see that you're still healthy and active. Thanks for an enjoyable night of blues!

Dear John,
Even if I'am "only 45" I have followed you for 33 years, I grew up with your blues, but every time I have been forced to do at least 600 km to see you. Why are there only concert in the north of Italy and not in the south and why only two concerts in Italy. We love you
Ciao Vincenzo

Saw your show at the Highline this past Tuesday, it was an inspiration for us all.Where I came from they used to say ," I'd rather see a sermon than hear one." And that night we saw one.
No need to ask you your secret. It's not a secret. You do what you love in life and life loves you in in return.
The Gita said it best : If you protect the dharma, the dharma protects. And that cd you sold me,your latest, is dynamite.See you next time.

Hello John! This is the girl in the purple velvet. The one that knew Nancy and Patty. I'm asking you to help me. Could you please issue a small statement about Standing Rock? It's getting worse. They have cut the water supply for thousands of native tribes that are there right now. Nature WILL disappear soon. Love and much thanks, Lisa Boland

Thomas - Wed, Sep 14th, 2016 6:01 AM PDT
Dear John Mayall,

It was so wonderful to tune into your frequency again last night at Highline Ballroom. I was so surprised to meet you, and to see your name signed in gold on "A Special Life" that I picked up (but still haven't listened to). This weekend I'm gonna listen to it with the same guy I knew back in the 80s who I listened to your music with, and we're both gonna dig it. I think there's a message for him there, because he just recovered fully from some serious health issues, and now he's better than ever, so a special life indeed.

You know what I think would be cool? Some t-shirts designed by you, with your artwork etc. Especially in a hard-core hippy style like how you used to dress in the 60s.

Loved your show, and the vibe of your music is so beautiful, and such a big part of my life.

Bob Mohr - Fri, Sep 9th, 2016 4:46 AM PDT
Saw John Mayall in Italy not far from or maybe in Naples 1974ish. Outdoor venue. Leg in a cast. I was in the US Navy. A bunch of guys found out about the show and decided to go.
I need to know the date and location.

Genaro Guerrero Espinosa - Thu, Sep 8th, 2016 7:00 PM PDT
Hello Mr. Mayall

Today, september 8th 2016, today we talked about you on our universitys online radio "Elocuencia 8080" my program is called JAMS, we talked a about your trajectory in blues and we found your story very interesting, we would like to ask you a question.... What are your musical influences, inspirations when creating songs?

Dear Rich (2nd Sept) - Tue, Sep 6th, 2016 3:18 PM PDT
We wanted to let you know that if you bring your pristine "Turning Point" LP to the show you should be able to get it signed. John always comes out before the show (soon after doors open) to meet the audience, sell CD's and sign autographs, so if you're there early enough you should have no trouble finding him. -

MO STOPHER - Tue, Sep 6th, 2016 7:43 AM PDT

Liam - Mon, Sep 5th, 2016 9:28 PM PDT
Why no Washington DC area shows? Not the Birchmere? Richmond also has some great venues. I hope you can slip in some dates close to the area.

Terry Villars - Sun, Sep 4th, 2016 5:51 AM PDT
Just seen our your news page that you WILL be in the Uk later next year - we'll be looking out - can't wait!!

Terry Villars - Sun, Sep 4th, 2016 5:46 AM PDT
Hi John - I see you have loads of gigs in Europe coming up next year - no mention of the U.K. - Please come home for some gigs, we love you! Last saw you in Leicester a couple of years ago and had our photo taken with you - magic evening?

Richard Brainard - Fri, Sep 2nd, 2016 1:33 PM PDT
Been playing "Turning Point"
album since early 70's, still no scratches, skips or pops.
Keep enlightening the yuths.
Jackasses just watch the platter spinning.
Be in the 4th row (17), Hartford, 10th.
That album would become a showpiece
with a J.M. signature.
Can only hope
(and keep enjoying Johnny Almond's horn playing)
Either way John, my world has been a better place thanks to your music....

Tim Pratt - Thu, Sep 1st, 2016 8:50 AM PDT
Here's an "ancient history" question for John...I just finished listening to a 4-song set from Helsinki in May 1969 that features John Mayall and Steve Thompson along with Keith Relf and Jim McCarty from The Yardbirds and Renaissance. In the intro Mayall mentions that his new band wasn't ready yet so Relf(on guitar) and McCarty were going to help him out.....does John have any memories of this period?

Tony - Fri, Aug 26th, 2016 1:02 PM PDT
Can you fit in a stopover in Salt Lake City. Haven't seen you since the late 70's but that was back in Michigan.

Christopher Gage Howe - Thu, Aug 25th, 2016 6:18 PM PDT
John was the first concert I ever went to when I was 15? at the Preforming Arts Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin-I'm 59 now-still enjoying John's gift:)

Vince DeLucia - Sun, Aug 21st, 2016 8:45 AM PDT
I was in attendance with my buddy Mike Cinelli back in July of '69...when you played the Fillmore East and recorded TURNING POINT...I thought the announcer was rude to you...and I recall your graciousness in the matter...I also remember that Blind Faith was playign uptown at MSG...and you invited us all down from the balcony to be closer to the stage...THAT CONCERT AND SUBSEQUENT LP HAS BEEN AND CONTINUES TO BE ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL TO MY OWN MUSIC CAREER...thank you for that wonderful evening back in 1969....

Dan Wilde - Wed, Aug 17th, 2016 10:54 AM PDT
A complete wonderful show in Duluth. I still wanted more.It was completely enjoyable from start to finish.Only once during the set I think the PA people turned the drums off during the bluessong. We could not hear the drums at all. Then the drums came back on the next song. Other than that it was perfect as the sound was really nice and the playing even better. Please come come back soon. Sooner better than later. lol

steve - Mon, Aug 15th, 2016 12:39 AM PDT
Disappointed to see that there are no plans for a UK Tour until late 2017.

Skip Conner - Sun, Aug 14th, 2016 5:19 AM PDT
I am currently reading an excellent book about Mr. Mayall,"Blues Crusader" by Dinu Logoz. When I was just 15 yrs old, I bought "The Turning Point" and it was, indeed, a true turning point in my music listening.Nearly 50 yrs later, it still remains in the top 5 faves in my immense collection of music. Thank you so much for opening my ears. Hope to see you in Cincy in Sept.

ron kagan - Thu, Aug 11th, 2016 11:02 PM PDT
The album Turning Point I was at the fillmore east when they recorded it great concert. First time ever saw rock group or blues group without drummer. Long time ago but I still remember it everytime I listen to the lp

Doug Marsh - Wed, Aug 10th, 2016 11:50 AM PDT
I´m looking forward to hearing John and his band play at the Bayfront Blues Fest this Sunday. Will he be available to meet and sign autographs? I have a guitar for him to sign.

Dear Blair (22nd July) - Mon, Aug 1st, 2016 12:58 PM PDT
John always comes out before his shows (unless it's a festival) to meet the audience, sign autographs and sell CD's, so you should have no trouble finding him if you arrive early. He usually comes out soon after the doors open. We hope you enjoy the show! -

Dear Pat (26th Jul) - Mon, Aug 1st, 2016 12:52 PM PDT
Thank you for your question. We are happy to say that no, John isn't winding down at all! The European tours come in an 18 month rotating cycle and because there was one at the end of last year, the next one doesn't fall until early next year and that reduced the number of shows. Next year will be off to a cracking start with that big European tour starting in February, so we're sure they'll be back up to at least their usual 100 shows in 2017! -

pat - Tue, Jul 26th, 2016 5:45 PM PDT
No where near his annual proclaimed 100 plus shows a year. Is John finally starting to wind down?

Turrel - Tue, Jul 26th, 2016 5:16 PM PDT

Dear Steve (Jul 5th) - Wed, Jul 6th, 2016 3:17 PM PDT
We're sorry to say that there are no plans for John to be back in the UK this year. He has a European tour scheduled for early next year and we're posting dates for that now. There's also a tour in the works for the UK later in 2017, but we won't have any more information on that until the end of this year. Please feel free to check back with us then. -

What can we do without the music. Sorry my english. It is not easy to say what my heart and brain feel.

Robby Armstrong - Tue, Jun 28th, 2016 7:40 AM PDT
Drove my wife of 25 years from Tulsa to OKC to a small 300 seat venue to experience THE bluesman and what a night!! Band was talented and tight and was free to roam, always finding their way back. John Mayall is still THE blues. Outstanding show...Last saw Mayall in New Orleans in 70 -72 at the old Warehouse and this show was every bit as wonderful!! My LP's are way past worn out but John still plays on. Thanks for making OKC a stop!!

Margo McCarthy - Mon, Jun 27th, 2016 8:44 AM PDT
My husband and I just had a wonderful time watching you and your band in studio sessions at the Tobin in San Antonio. After the show, I ridiculously asked you to sign a CD you had already signed, because I was so star-struck I couldn't think of anything else to say. I am overwhelmed that we were able to meet you and see you perform. You are such a wonderful artist, as are your band members. What an inspiration! Thank you!

Ron - Mon, Jun 27th, 2016 2:29 AM PDT
My apologies if this has been flagged before but I just found "John Mayall Burned My Fingers" with Eric Clapton on you tube!

JW - Sun, Jun 26th, 2016 2:00 PM PDT
The show in San Antonio last night was fantastic! What a great performance by John Mayall and the band. Thanks!

Will Sutton - Sun, Jun 26th, 2016 12:02 PM PDT
Enjoyed every minute of the San Antonio show last night. Have been a fan since '65 and still have my original copy of the "Turning Point" lp I bought in '69. Last night couldn't have been better!

Brian Blackwell - Sun, Jun 26th, 2016 6:45 AM PDT
Enjoyed San Antonio show immensely. The mixture of new and old material and the musicianship of the band were all anyone could ever want. He never sat down or used a chair the entire time. Bought a CD and got his autograph before the show. Should have told him the fourth 8 track tape I ever had in 1972 was a Bluesbreakers album.
Apologies to Mr. Mayall and orchestra for the design of the venue. While folding chairs are most comfortable and acoustics were great, the low stage and front row only aisle were an unnececessary distraction and another example of how San Antonio stage production people do not get it. And we will not Go into the soundboard issues to avoid piling on here.

Nathan Sigmond - Sat, Jun 25th, 2016 11:21 AM PDT
Why have you not toured the TURNING POINT album. TWO best recordings ever, Turning Point and Whats going on by Marvin Gaye

dave davis - Sat, Jun 25th, 2016 9:37 AM PDT
What a great show in Houston last night. I have seen you many times in the past. This is clearly the best band I have ever seen you with. I hope to catch you again in the near future. A plus if there is a grade system. That's for sure

Bill Hill - Thu, Jun 23rd, 2016 9:30 AM PDT

I went to the concert at the Rialto Theater in Tucson last night. 1st time seeing you live and I'm pissed it took me so long to see your show.

Really really enjoyed it from start to finish. The band are all great musicians and it was awesome to see them showcase their talents with extended "solos" within the songs

Keep on Keeping on!Cheers Jerry

We asked John about this and you were correct Tim. He said it would be too repetitive, and that this seemed like the best presentation to do justice to the performances and songs. We're really pleased to hear that you're enjoying the releases and hope this helps answer your question! -

Claire Heffernan - Sat, May 14th, 2016 11:10 PM PDT

Claire Heffernan - Sat, May 14th, 2016 11:07 PM PDT
Hi John - I listened to your music in the early 1970's and then I moved onto celtic music and other genres. However, I just heard you being interviewed on CBC radio regarding your induction into the blues hall of fame and WOW I had forgotten just what a fantastic blues artist you really are. Congratulations. Claire Quadra Island BC Canada

Listening to Blues from Laurel Canyon (original lp) for the ooomphtinsh time throughout my life, since I first bought it. Love it , you are the best. Saw you in concert many years ago at the Royal Albert Hall, fantastic. May we continue to blues and rock and roll. Much respect xxx

Just a thank you for Live In 1967 Volume 2. John was my way into the blues, but it's Peter Green's playing on A Hard Road that made blues guitar in particular "click" for me. His playing on these live volumes are, in my opinion, the finest blues playing he has ever done. This stuff is pure gold.

Played "Live in 1967" twice since it arrived friday.... I would have been happy to have bought all five shows that Vol's. 0ne and Two were compiled from in their entirety after hearing these releases.

Dear John,
One of my favorite blues songs (dream about the blues) puzzles me for some time now. The problem is that I do not fully recognize all the words you are singing. Can you help me? When I sing this song, I would like to do it right!
Kind regards, Simon Hans

Thanks for being there all those years! Year after year I come back to your music and find it as fresh and pure as I found it when I was many years younger.

Bruce, My guess would be that since the shows were recorded so close together the "set lists" would be too similar to justify separate releases although like you I would be happy to see it.

We appreciate your kind comments, and are happy to be able to say that we expect John and the band to be back in Europe for an extensive tour in early 2017. We don't have confirmed dates yet, so cannot say for sure that they'll be in Sweden, but we hope so! We'll post the dates as soon as they're confirmed. -
