Nicholas Keen - Sat, Mar 19th, 2016 2:14 PM PDT
I really enjoyed the show last night in Sellersville, PA. Great location, great event.

The Turning Point was my first rock album purchase following budget copies of Beethoven's Fifth and the 1812 no less, and got repeated plays on a sturdy Dansette record player when it came out.

To modern times, Greg Rzab's first base solo at the 6'o'clock show last night was sublime, and as for John, I hope that I am as on top of my game at his age as he clearly is. What a dynamic and talented musician and band. Thanks to all.

Ken and Cathy Mayall - Sat, Mar 19th, 2016 10:02 AM PDT

Amazing show last night in Sellersville, PA. Loved finally getting to see you in person! You still have got it... after all these years. I got there late due to work-Did you do Room to Move?? That song always got me to my feet during my studying in nursing school... you, John Prine, Dave Mason, Janis Ian and Carol King. You were my saviors and my smiles. Thank you! Be well and stay healthy! Judi Z

Gary Cota - Sat, Mar 19th, 2016 6:12 AM PDT
Great show in Sellersville on 3/18! Your music in the 60's and 70's helped me discover the American Blues scene and made me a life long fan. Very encouraging seeing so many young people at your show last night. The Blues rolls on.

Nicholas Burlotti - Wed, Mar 16th, 2016 2:16 PM PDT
I'm doing a school project and wondering if you could you tell me: how you became a musician
-How long it took you to become famous/well known after you became a musician?
-What 5 songs would be your most famous?
-Would you still consider your music famous?
-How did you contribute to making your music famous
Thanks so much and please email me your responces -

Bob Friedman - Sat, Mar 12th, 2016 7:00 PM PST
I was honored to usher for one of your shows at the Sellersville Theater last year. As expected, you were terrific!
I will again be ushering for you at Sellersville again on March 19, at the 6:00 show.
Last year, you did "Room to Move" at the later show, and I didn't get to hear it. I am hopeful that you will include it in your playlist for that 6:00 show. It was one of my favorites in my early years, and still has a positive effect on me 50 years later.
No matter what, though, I am looking forward to seeing you again, and honored to usher for you one more time!
Thanks for everything!
Bob Friedman

Just got home from the concert in Knoxville TN and I have to say it was one of the better concerts I've been to. This concert was a birthday present and I couldn't have been happier! I enjoyed myself immensely ... Love John (got a picture with him in the Lobby) and the rest of the band...especially the wonderful bassman. His solo was absolutely fantastic. He brought chills! Thank you for such a wonderful evening and birthday present! Come back to Knoxville, TN whenever you can!

I saw John a couple of years ago in Dublin. I've been listening to his music since i was a small kid in the 1960s, when my brother played the bluesbreakers in his band. I loved the gig and i'm wondering if John has any plans to visit Ireland again?

Alex Fisher - Mon, Feb 29th, 2016 9:02 AM PST
Great to see at last a proper copy of your album Find A way To Care on vinyl. Great pressing and the best way to hear John and the band play the Blues. So I encourage to go and buy in Vinyl and hear John at his best. In the UK Vinyl is back with a bang and sales are on the up. Please Forty Below Records try and get a simultaneous release on all formats for John's next album!

Hi John,Do you remember a(timid)british string player by the name of Antony Boast (B.1948 / Camberley-Surrey)? He used to come around/play at the Eel Pie Club(He also was handed E.C.'s guitar once at a gig cause he did not bring his own guitar), he played with Champion Jack Dupree for a while and disapeared to Belgium with his band The Junior Pilots. The story was that he was asked once to join your band but could not or didn't make the gig?I played with Tony for years-he was a great player and could play an awsome blues next to the multi-world string instruments he mastered. He passed away 10 years ago 16/02/2006.Greatings.B.J.

Re John Mayall- The Blues Crusader by Dinu Logoz

Having seen the varied comments about this new book I decided to read it for myself over the holidays. Whilst it is undoubtedly largely a cut and paste from other sources it does have the merit of collating much of the more relevant facts and figures to provide a useful reference point with perhaps more relevance for newer fans. It does fill in the gap for UK fans in respect of the late seventies period when John was without a recording contract but clearly still actively touring with various line ups.
Written mostly in laudatory terms towards the end of the text a more critical and questioning tone emerges leading this reader to question whether frustration had crept in due to a lack of direct access to the subject himself, or perhaps a withdrawal of any limited cooperation? The author queries song choices on albums such as In the Palace of the King querying the wisdom of finally disbanding that incarnation of the Bluesbreakers whilst suggesting that disbanding was far from amicable. Most long term fans might more pertinently query why John had persisted with that stable lineup for so long a spell given his previous talent in reinventing himself through changes in band personnel.

In the end of the day the only person who can answer what few questions the author raises is John himself should he ever find time away from the road to write a definitive autobiography!

Finally, did laziness or lack of budget prevent the final print from being proof read? It contains many typographical errors throughout, one of the most glaring being several references to Bonnie Raitt as "Riatt"! Unforgivable.

I've been on a John Mayall listening marathon since I finished the "The Blues Crusader" book. Doing the original cd's then the reissues with bonus tracks......16 in all so far. Am convinced that John's lyrics on "Blood On The Night" from Diary of A Band- Vol.One are the best he's ever written! Check 'em out.....Tim

Hello john and the band.Looking forward to seeing the 2016 tour hopping you will come to west Virginia.why dosent johns famous musician friends help get john a long over due lifetime grammy?long live the blues!

Pat - Fri, Dec 18th, 2015 6:46 PM PST
I suspected that book was like that. I am not going to buy it. Anytime an author hesitates in answering a question, is bad news.. He was asked more than once if john had any I put on book, he stalled on questions. So we are really reading nothing new at All ..

Roy Burton - Tue, Dec 15th, 2015 2:04 AM PST
The book Blues Crusader is good if you have not been a JM fan forever, it has been put together from Cuttings, Interviews, Cd and press releases all already out there and some things are not right, I am sure one day John will get his own book out.

Derrick - Sun, Dec 13th, 2015 4:47 PM PST
Hello John,

On the track "Don't Kick Me" from your 1967 record The Blues Alone, you achieve the most wonderfully rude distorted sound! Just fantastic! What was the amplifier used to get this sound (and guitar too)? Also, what was done to achieve that sound beyond turning the amp up to "10" because it sounds more distorted than simply plugging a guitar directly into a stock cranked amplifier? Did you plug strait into the amp or were you using a boost or possibly an amp modification to get this sound? I would be ecstatic to hear anything you can tell me about what amp this is and getting this spectacular overdriven tone.

Did John Mayall open for Johnny Winter at the Rose Arts Festival in Norwich CT in ~1985? If memory serves he did, and much to my surprise, he set up much of his own gear on roadies! And the show was excellent...both John and Johnny!

Happy birthday, John. I've been a huge fan of yours for over two years. It's not such a long time exactly—and you've heard this a million times; but your music has really made a strong impact on my life, as well as yourself. I've collected many of your records secondhand and I'm still not where I want to be. I'm a long road behind but I'm on the right side at least. I can't believe how powerful you still are up on stage, seeing you perform through many videos. You perform just as you once did in the seventies; and I'm happy to see that. I'm so grateful for your life and existence. And I'm waiting and have been waiting long for your arrival in New York and I'm so thrilled to hear that you will be playing here in March. My heart goes out to you and your family and loved ones. I love you, and all you've accomplished—thanks for making turning me to the blues. 💖
