Congratulations to John Mayall on his second Grammy Nomination. Following the Grammy nod for 'Wake Up Call', which was nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album in 1994, John Mayall and 'The Sun Is Shining Down' have been nominated in the Best Traditional Blues Album category for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, to be held on February 5th in Los Angeles, CA.

Other nominees for this award include Gov't Mule, Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal & Ry Cooder and Charlie Musselwhite.

Congratulations are also due to co-producer Eric Corne and John's bandmates, Greg Rzab, Jay Davenport and Carolyn Wonderland. Special thanks go to the guest artists, Mike Campbell, Marcus King, Buddy Miller, Scarlet Rivera, Melvin Taylor and Jake Shimabukuro for their special contributions to this project.

The success of this album is also due to the work and support of the team of Forty Below Records, Devious Planet Media, Brat Girl Media and Mac Radio Promotion.

Most of all, a special thanks has to go out to the John Mayall Fanbase. Their loyal support and inspiration have been the fuel to feed the fire for decades!

For anyone comparing short-lived inbox services, the criteria that matter most are usually inbox lifespan, whether custom addresses are supported, and which sites actually accept the domain. A TempEmail.cc walkthrough covers these points across several tested options, which can save time versus signing up for each one individually.

What strikes me is the gap: from Wake Up Call in 1994 to this nomination decades later, Mayall kept releasing blues records without chasing a moment. That kind of persistence rarely gets acknowledged twice by the same awards body. Does the long wait change how you hear The Sun Is Shining Down now?

I finally gave The Sun Is Shining Down a proper listen a few months ago, and it didn't feel like a legacy act coasting. So the Grammy nod, decades after his first, reads less like nostalgia to me and more like a late-career record earning its own keep.

It’s striking that this nomination comes nearly three decades after Wake Up Call. I wonder, though, how much of the recognition is for the album itself versus John Mayall’s lifetime of influence. Either way, it’s a remarkable late-career moment worth celebrating.
